Fatigue delamination behaviour of carbon fibre/epoxy composites interleaved with thermoplastic veils

چکیده

Interleaving thermoplastic veils has proved to enhance the interlaminar fracture toughness of carbon fibre/epoxy composites under static loading conditions. However, fatigue delamination behaviour yet be investigated. Herein, meltable Polyamide-12 (PA) and non-meltable Polyphenylene-sulphide (PPS) were used for interlay toughening unidirectional (UD) non-crimp fabric (NCF) laminates that manufactured using a prepreg process resin transfer moulding process, respectively. The results Mode-I tests demonstrated significant improvement in life due interleaving. Additionally, resistance energy been maximumly increased by 143% 190% UD NCF laminates, microscopy analysis revealed mechanisms affected form (melted or non-melted), reference adhesion/miscibility between epoxy.
